Lisbeth Salander is what made the book for me. She isn't your typical heroine . She is smart and sexy and a bi-sexual. This is story is deals with Millenniums doing a story on trafficicating of women.
This book delved in to all the characters and their sexual history from a cop to all the others. I didn't need to know who was sleeping with who, but it did add more layers to some of the characters. Lisbeth is wanted for murder of 3 people and she is trying to have Mikael help her with the case.
There was also lot of mention this time of Ikea furniture through out the book. Almost reminded me of a AD at times. There is hardly any interaction between Mikael and Lisbeth except by computer, which I missed it. This book was more about character development and the magazine. Also learned more about Lisbeth and her family.
Overall it was an okay book but tough topic and the author got very wordy at times. I will finish the series to see what happens with Lisbeth. As I stated before, she is a big part of this series.
Book Review =3/C
I bought this book and this is my Honest Review.
I rented the . I know that Hollywood is going to change it, but there are times when the original is better. I will pick up the next book soon, maybe from the library. I know that the movie will never be like the book. I've learned that early on from Flowers in the Attic.
I really want to read this series, but I haven't had a chance yet because I have a bookcase full of books that I need to read so hubby said no new books for awhile. LOL. I also have the movie on my queue, but I haven't had a chance to read it. I can't wait to check it out though.
ReplyDelete*Flowers in the Attic will always be the worst book to film for me. I loved the book and was so angry when I saw the movie.
Lots of sex and mentions to Ikea?
ReplyDeleteI'm turned off already!
Thank you for this review. You have convinced me to pass.
I haven't read any stellar reviews for this one, so I'll put this on hold for now. I am curious as to what you think of the movie. :)
ReplyDeleteW are reading the first one in November and December for my book club. We'll see how far I get. I have high hopes but I'm not pressuring myself to read the whole series.
ReplyDeleteFlowers in the attic..(shaking my head) yeah...
