Shadow and Bone Book Review

Alina and Mal are near the Shadow Fold. She is a map maker , and not that special at all. When kids are eight years old, they are tested to see if they have any special abilities. When she saves her friend Mal with a bright light. Her life is changed , and she is taken to the Little Palace. She is on this trip with the Darkling.
While there she slowly gets to know the Darkling more and understand more about her powers. She is learning more about the castle life, and slowly making friends. While there she is dressed in certain color robes which distinguishes herself among her peers. She is now a Grisha . She is training with Baghra , and she hates it. Her only friend in the palace is Genya. Genya is full of all the court gossip , and has the info about the queen's sons.
Darkling is mystical , magical and he says that his great great great great Grandfather created the Shadow fold, and he wants to get rid of it.

While training she does become stronger . On a night when there is a Big Show , Alina learns that things aren't as they seem. Darkling has been searching for something to help with her powers. This was a night of big reveals. She has to make a choice for the best of the world.

This book is amazing  and layered with the themes of power, magic, and beauty. Alina is someone who struggles with her beauty. She also learns about Power that she has, and that she can wield.  There is also the power of steel, body, and court. There were so many examples of power being used in this book.  I can usually guess what might happen in a book, and this book was different good . I am anxious for the next book already. Darkling is amazing , and he is either looking for redemption or an evil boy. I am still thinking about this book and the characters. Seriously I loved this book, and since book blogging I have been very picky with books I Love , and this book was no exception. I could ramble more about it but this book was descriptive and colorful.

Best Line : The problem with wanting is that it makes us week
