NOS4A2 Book Review

Victoria is able to find things. She can ride her bike along the covered bridge . She is able to find people too with her bridge. She finds a Leigh the librarian who is alot like her. She also finds out more about Charlie Manx who is wraith , and he takes kids. There is a gasman too  who is just plain evil . Manx takes the kids to Christmas land.

She grows up and tries to help the kids in Christmas land , but is unsuccessful . There she meets Lou  who ends up rescuing her from Manx. They end up having a boy named Bruce Wayne , and she has lots of mental issues. Her son ends up being taking by Charlie.

I love Joe Hill's previous books. This was one mom's journey to save her son. Victoria life wasn't the best while growing up. I loved that she would do anything for her son. Through out the book  many pop cultural references are in it like Browncoats, Batman, and Superman .

Criminal Book review Tour & Giveaway

Nikki and Dee have been dating for sometime. They did break for little bit, but have since gotten together. This one weekend that they are hanging out , things go totally different then planned. She is driving the get away car  from a murdered cop. She really doesn't have any family except she hangs many times at Bird's house. She makes some poor choices , but she finally tells the truth, and ends up going to jail.

Prison is a hard life , and there she is able to put things into perspective  including her relationship with Dee. Her step dad is in jail , and her mom has an addiction. She has had a very tough life , and she even has dropped out of school , and working at a hair salon. She looks alot like her mom , but she also still has secrets from her too.

Wow this book was truly an honest look at choices, and what happens. My heart was saddened when realized her error and felt guilty.

Meg  & Mary  and their family have moved several times. They are in the Witness protection program. Things aren't going well for this family.

Meg has several rules in which she lives by. She also doesn't get close anyone, but her life changes when she meets Ethan. She always has a carry on bag with her to leave in a moments notice. She also starts questioning more of her parents. Her mom drinking has gotten worse while in the program, and she is having bad dreams. Life isn't so perfect , and with as many moves as she had.

Meg will do whatever she can to save her family. She does some rash things and finally tells the truth to some friends. With Ethan's love and support she is able to save her family.

This totally reminded of my fave show  In Plain Sight but from a witness perspective.

Reboot Book Review

Wren 178 has been a reboot for over 5 years. She is the best at what she does when she has to do her job. She is friend to Ever 56. She trains new recruits but always chooses a high number , but this time she chooses Callum 22. Rebooting is a effect of the KDH virus , but it also kills people. Reboots live a in HARC facility 24/7.

Ever is also having some issues. Callum is asking more questions , and getting into trouble. Wren is also interested in someone for the first time. During this time she starts becoming more curious and questioning of HARC.  Wren also learns that the under 60's are getting shots , and turning more into zombies.

I found this to be more of a undead romance. It did make me laugh , and a very fast read. I loved the Wren is such a kick butt character  There was alot of action and curious what is going to happen next with Callum & Wren. I loved seeing Wren change and open up her heart to Callum.

Reading Challenges --Blog Confession

Reading challenges: Do you host or join in any? What is your success rate on completing them? Do they keep your reading goals on track, put too many restrictions/pressure on you?  What do you think makes for a successful reading challenge?

Well great topic today. I only have done debut challenge ..meaning I try to read alot of new authors with debut books. I did only for 1 year , and it was great . I think that's the only one I continue to do. I don't challenge myself with a number , but I do to kept track on the blog with labels.

They don't restrict me , but I don't do too many of them due to time and other book reviews.

I think a successful challenge where you challenge your goals. I have good reads reading goals with books, and I have done well with that one. I think a reading challenge is what ever you make it to be .

What are your thoughts on this ?? Do you keep track ?? Which one's do you do ??

Thanks Karen & Pam for this topic

The Eternity Cure Book Review

Allison is back , and on the hunt for her Sire Kanin. He is pain and slowly dying. She runs into Jackal who is her brother. She also runs into Zeke who has left Eden.

Jackal made this book for me, and I wanted to find out more about him. I loved his humor & how he looked at this world. It isn't pretty world at all. There are many meat bags dying and the virus is on the lose. Sarren is in this book , and evil as he can be.

I found this book predictable , and characters I thought gone showed up again. The ending was amazing , but Allison whines alot about humanity and loving a human. I got it the first time . This book was darker than the first book, and I do want to see what happens with Allison and the Gang. This book took me a lot longer to read, where as the first book I finished much faster. I did see some of the second book syndrome in this one. I do enjoy Julie's worlds but I think this book has Vamped me out.

Golden Book Review

Parker Frost is up for a full ride scholarship to Stanford. She is in her Senior year and have never strayed from the path or did anything crazy. She finds a journal of Juliette . She died 10 years ago in a car accident. Juliette was part of the Golden couple with Shane.

Reading Juliette journal , Parker starts taking risks . She is also open to boy that she has had a crush on for sometime . While reading the journal , she is also changing too. Parker starts looking more closely at her life, and also ends up learning more about Juliette & Shane. Things aren't so Golden for the couple.

Parker decides to do something different with her best friends, and to also do something . She wants to find her Passion.

There are two romances in this book, and if you like Nicholas Sparks books/movies then you will love this book. I also loved that through out the book there are different poems. I also enjoyed the journal aspect of it and the writing , and learning about oneself.

This did remind me a bit of Gayle Forman's Just One day
