Paranormalcy --Book Review

Paranormalcy
Evie isn't normal and she works for the IPCA and has been there since age 8.

This is so different from other paranormal romance stories , and since I saw the cover, I admit I wanted this book. In fact I did a video for this book from the author.

Evie is sad and wants a family but all she knows is bagging and tagging other creatures. Evie's previous boyfriend is Reth and Faerie and still in love with her. Evie wants the normal life of high school, lockers, dates, and friends.

It was nice to see Parents in this book and what a refreshing take of paranormal. Evie meets Lend when he is trying to steal some files from Raquel office. Evie is able to see through Glamour of all paranormal creatures. Evie befriends Lend and gets to know him better over time.

Evie meets Lend who can change into anybody he sees but she sees the real him and wants what he has in life . Evie grows and changes through out the book and her perceptions of her old world and new world collide and she is trying to figure out what she is, and if she truly is evil. I don't want to spoil too much about all the that goes on through  out the story. I loved her friendship with Lish ( a mermaid) who says Bleep alot.

Great debut by Kirsten White and I'm still mulling over the story and characters long after I have finished it. Love the Cover.

Book Review=5/A

  4. Great review. My last YA choice had parents in it also and I was pleasently surprised, feels more real to me.

And friends with a mermaid, that intrigues me.

  6. I can't wait to read this one! Does she actually say "bleep?" Or just swear a lot? That would be an interesting speech tic.
