Guardian of the Dead-- Book Review

I loved the Cover of the book.
Thanks to Little Brown for this ARC and it comes out 4/2010. This is my Honest Review.
Ellie Spenser is like any ordinary teen: she hangs out with her best friend, Kevin:obsesses over her crush on a mysterious bad boy: and her biggest worry is her paper deadline. Then everything changes ; In the foggy woods near the school, something ancient and deadly is lurking.( Back of the Book)
Ellie-- student
Kevin- Best friends to Ellie
Mark- cute guy, and mystery
Ellie is in a co-ed boarding school in New Zealand. Her parents are off traveling the world since her mother in remission from cancer.
Ellie/Kevin helping with play
Ellie/Mark have some romantic sparks
There is someone killing people in the town. They are studying the Odyssey in Classics Class. While helping with the Play, Ellie gets a white mask. Mark accidental woke up Ellie into all things that are supernatural. Ellie being around Mark becomes forget ful. Mark is a mystery to Ellie.
Through out this book there were many folk lore tales and they used the Maori language which is New Zealand. I loved the setting of this book and so different from other paranormal stories in the young adult.
My favorite line : Stories change us:They change the world. People are stories of themselves.
Book Review = 4
I would like to see another continuation of these characters
