Well I grew up a house in Milpitas and my dad built a big play house in the backyard for my sisters and I and I was there until 1st grade.
In 1st Grade we moved to a Court in San Jose and I lived there til I completed my junior year in High School. I have fond memories of that the house, elementary school, middle school, friends, church friends, parks, going to dances, going to Prom.
In my Senior Year, we Moved to El Dorado Hills and lived in Rental til my parents could figure out where to move next. We lived there for a couple years.
My parents then found a house in the same town and lived for some time more and we meet some great neighbors.
I moved out on my on to Utah and and lived with my Aunt and lived in the blue room. I was only there in Salt Lake City for 6 months. I'm not a Utah person. I had a job and got a new car.
Lived at home again but then decided to find room mates...by the time I had meet my DH, but I needed the experience of living with room mates.
Got married and lived for 2 months in his apartment..and then we moved to the duplex to live there for a couple years. We had our first baby living in the home, DH tried his new business. It was the start of the adventure.
Moved back in with my Parents for 16-18 months, so we could get our feet on the ground after the business went belly up, had baby number 2 , DH found out what he wanted to do for job besides Pest Control.
Moved into a Duplex and we lived there while DH went to school, dealt with mold. We lived there for 3 years, til he wanted to sell the place. I had baby number 3 in this home. ( I didn't do the home birth--but this where her first home was)
We moved in town to the White house..Everything was wrong with the house, bad driveway, DH was at his new job and liking the job field he was in. We lived there til the owner wanted to sell the house. We did get offered the house, but after living there....we didn't want it. I had baby number 4 at this house.
We finally became Homeowners and have been in the house since the time. We also had baby number 5. I love my back yard, and the neighborhood and the school district at times. Overall I have been happy with my kids teachers and DH has been happy at his job.
I guess I'm a California girl at heart except when I mentioned Utah.
It sounds like you have had a nice stable life : ) I am glad you love your house now! I think it is so important to love your house since you spend so much time there!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written! Envy you with the backyard, it's something that us apartment dweller missed out on lol :)
ReplyDeleteJulie, I'm glad you made this post. It tells me a lot more about you! I'm not a utah person either, even though I lived there for 10 years! HUGS
