One season of Sunshine --Book Review

Adopted as an infant, Jane Aaron longs to know the identity of her birth mother and why she gave her up. Her only clue is the name of the small Texas town where she was born, so she’s come to Cedar Springs for answers.

Handsome ad executive Asher Price lost his wife, the beautiful, mysterious Susanna, in a terrible car crash eighteen months ago. When he hires Jane as the nanny for his two children, sparks fly. Jane finds herself falling in love with both Asher and his children, but begins to suspect that Susanna was not the perfect mother and wife the family portrays her to have been.

As Jane gets closer and closer to finding out the truth about both her own and Susanna’s past, devastating secrets begin to emerge that may be more than anyone can bear. Will the truth bring Jane and Asher closer together or tear them apart forever? (Goodreads.com)

I found this different from other chick lit books. It was nice to see a Family working on their issues  and seeing a relationship grow. This book did have readers guide to think about the story.

Jane is trying to find her birth mom, who happens to be in this small town where someone needs a nanny. It was mostly Jane's journey to find out more about herself.

Jane's grows to care for the kids and at times felt like a mother to the kids. Asher is always working , and starts to realize that he needs to be there for his kids. His wife who died is still there in the house, meaning they haven't cleaned out her work space or attic. The family isn't able to move to the future , when they still have the past all around them. This book did talk about serious issues , and this is my first time reading this author..might read more.

Book Review=3

Thanks to Pocket for the book and this is my Honest Review.

  1. Sounds quite interesting. I love the cover. Anything with a little kid on it draws me in.
