Shadow Hills --Book Review

Shadow Hills
Phe has lost her older sister Athena  in an accident. Her mom isn't all there and her dad is busy being a lawyer. Phe asks to go to Shadow Hills and get away from LA and her parents. While there some strange things begin to happen to her.

Persephone Archer has been having some strange dreams for some time. Once she gets to Shadow hills, she finally runs in to Zach who has been in her dreams . Its a surreal experience for Phe. She reminds me of a Nancy Drew and trying to figure out about Zach and her dreams. Phe's friends were great and fun. They added more to book but at times they seemed 2-D with tech friend Toy ,and rich drinking Adriana.

Everything happened in 2-3 weeks time since she came to school and trying to solve the mystery about herself and a teacher. I found it interesting that there was mention of Photography class and her details about taking pictures and being in a wet room were so realistic.

There were parents in book along with Zach's sister Corrine which was great to see siblings and cousins like Trent and Brody. It made the characters seem more real. Zach and his family are townies and there is something special about them. Her parents weren't in it very much except some phone calls. At times this book reminded me a bit like Firespell by Chloe Neill , because boarding school and mystery.

This was a different paranormal book but it was needed after reading Mockingjay. This was a good mystery and hope that there is another book coming.

  1. Thatnks for the lovely review - this book really sounds great! Would you say it's better than Firespell? I've read lots of so-so reviews of Firespell. So many boarding-school books, lol!
