This is the 2nd book in a series. I haven't read the
The Explosionist at all. The story takes place in 1938 and in Sweden.This is a steampunk novel but also has fairy tales mixed up into it.
Sophie parents are both dead and right now she is living with Mikael family. Her aunt is still alive and has some secrets too. Things are different with dating rules , and romance. She has cat that is with her when she travels.
This book did mention some the Snow Queen . I loved that fairy tale. This book moved slowly and very little action. There were no chapter breaks which made the book drag along. Beautiful cover , but this story was lacking something.
Sophie needs to meet with Alfred Nobel and find out why here parents killed. Mikael gets kidnapped by the Ice Queen and Sophie finds out more Elise Bix ( Snow Queen).
