Reading Slump ???

Do you ever get in a reading slump ??

What books bring you out of it ??

Have reading such awesome books made the next book Meh ?? For example when you have read a good book , and the next doesn't even compare.

Are you a mood reader ??

Is there one book that is your comfort read ??

  1. Yes, I get in reading slumps but a trashy celeb memoir will always bring me out of it. :)

  2. I think everyone...well everyone who reads alot gets into a slump and as book bloggers we feel bad because we have arcs and such. But we are only human and can't do everything all the time. We got to change up the pace sometimes.

I am not a mood reader though. When I am picking a book I just grab the next on the shelf and read. I can never figure out what mood I am in so I just grab one. ;->

  3. I definitely get in reading slumps and it is usually after I have read a really good book. I feel like the next one won't even compare to the one I just read.

I am also a mood reader too, so sometimes I just don't find anything to suit the mood I am in.

Other times--I am just too tired...

Love the Nathan Fillion pic by the way!!! :)

ooooo...I hate the reading slumps..:( I get them more than ever now that Im blogging. Usually a good cheesy fluff book helps.....for sure anything that says brain candy....ie Twilight, easy ya's...maybe a good Stephie Plum novel!

  5. I'm totally a mood reader, the perfect book to get me out of a reading slump is always somewhere in my reading-pile, but sometimes I don't know what I'm looking for just then and I need some time to figure it out. So that's actually how I get into a reading slump, I don't know what new book I'm in the mood for, books I've read before are easier but I seldom take the time to reread a book. If I do I need to really make it count and want to enjoy it as much as possible.

  6. Do you ever get in a reading slump ?? Sometimes...depends on the time of year. If I am busy or not. If I hate to read when I am busy because it takes me forever and personally if I don't finish a book in at least 3 days, I will most likely put it down and never pick it back up because I lose interest.

What books bring you out of it ??
Give me a classic or a really quick and easy understanding read and I will be reading again in no time!

Have reading such awesome books made the next book Meh ?? Sometimes, but usually I can get through that.

Are you a mood reader ?? No way..I could read any time of the year...mood or not ;)

Is there one book that is your comfort read ?? Sense and Sensibility.

  7. I get into reading slumps all the time-especially after I read a lot of good ones in a row or am looking forward to a new release.

Mood reader: Yes. The mood I'm in determines what genre I'll read next.

Books that bring me out of my funk: Novellas help so much or books that are really short, like Harlequins or cozy mysteries.

Comfort Read: It used to be Jane Eyre, but it's whatever series I love the most. (Currently Gini Koch's Kitty Kat series)

  8. I forgot to add that I just got out of one by reading Kitty & The Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn. I liked it because it was short, & entertaining

  9. Yes... I hate reading slumps. I've been doing okay lately, but I have been reading a lot less/slower. Summer has been distracting me and I am beginning to feel overwhelmed with my TBR pile.

Don't know what got me out of the slump... but reading a favorite novella or finding a new one may help - it's short, so not a huge commitment, and it may be enough to spark some life in the reading habits.

  11. I'm in a slump right now. I have so many I want to read I can't pick. Usually what gets me out of a rut it just to relax and not pick based on obligation.

I'm a total mood reader, that's for sure. I have to be really careful when picking what to read next, because I'll absolutely HATE a book *just because* I wasn't really feeling like it!! :( The problem isn't picking a book, since I normally know what I want to read, it's NOT HAVING that type of book around that's the problem ... then I mope about and drive my fiancé crazy!! :P
