What are the trends you noticed in blogging from 2012 and what do you hope to see for the blogging community in 2013?
Well the only trend right now I see is that giveaways are very low entries at least from what I have seen. It makes me wonder if blogging is becoming passe.
No I haven't made any new goals except through goodreads and how many books to read.
No to new ideas and challenges.
I did find a job , and trying to enjoy books more . I do have a life outside of the blog. I want to be enjoying reading even more.
I would like that those steal content face the consequences from publishers , and not get free goodies from publishers that say they won't work with you , and yet still do. ( I think you might know who I am referring too ) I know a new year but waiting for the shoe to drop for the next person to be blacklisted or run away from blogging for stealing content.
I would love to see more spy novels and less of the BDSM . I would also like to see more romance and robot novels. I am also sad that some series are ending too.
Thanks Karen and Pam for this topic
What are you looking forward this year ??
Congrats on finding a new job! You know, I hadn't noticed the low contest entries, but you're right. Wonder if that's part of bloggers cutting back? I'm trying to find my joy in reading again and reduce the reviewing pressure, so want to read what I want, when I want this year.
ReplyDeleteAlexia's Books and Such...
I have no clue on why they are down but its something I did notice.
DeleteThat's interesting. I did have a few contests with very low entries or no one entering. Maybe people are just getting burned out with entering. Yes, I know who you're referring to. It makes me disappointed too, but I don't know what the publishers are thinking so...there's that.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best in 2013 and Congrats on your new job.
thanks and yes maybe they are getting burnt out.
DeleteCongrats on your new job! :) Your post made me think about the giveaways I used to do on my blog. I used to do them, and then I just tapered off, because there wasn't always much interest. Maybe I just wasn't giving away good-enough books? But I also got a lot busier, and just didn't want the hassle, so maybe that's something that happened to other bloggers.
ReplyDeleteAnd on the other topic, of the bad behavior .... yes, I think I know who you're referring to, and yes, it's disappointing. However, I'm a believer in karma biting someone like that in the butt. :)
Happy new year!
Congrats on your job. I hope you are able to enjoy more books this year!
ReplyDeleteI have always had issues with giveaways being successful on my blog, but I see them blow up on others. I'm really not sure why. But I keep trying!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm now following you via email. =)

Congrats on the new job! What will you be doing? I was going to make a post on my 2013 goals, but I honestly don't have very many. I find that that with work, I enjoy my relaxing reading time TONS. It is the best part of my day, or sometimes week if I am too busy!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new job!!!! You are right about the low entries on giveaways. Have you noticed that it's always the same people entering the different giveaways? I am trying so hard to get caught up on netgalley reviews so I can finally start reading what I want to again. I've missed reading series from start to finish in a week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new job! I would love to see more straight up mystery for teens--it seems like everything is paranormal these days
