Blog Confession-- Blog Design

March 18th - What is important in design for the blogs you follow? What features/elements do you appreciate? What are big turn offs?

Well Music is a big turn off. I like the sleek and simple style of blogs. I don't them to busy. I love being able to leave comments . I love that the blogger leaves a comment to me or trys to communicate with the readers.

I hate having to prove that I am human by leaving a comment. CAPTCHA ---dislike with a passion.

I love blogs that are simple and beautiful . I can learn alot about a person with their blog design. Its is your little space on the internet.

Well this is my shout to Rach( parajunkee) who did mine and I adore it. I asked her to clean it up and make it more streamlined ...but I adore it. Thanks Rachel.

Thanks Pam & Karen for this topic

Is there anything you would like to have changed on my blog ??

  4. Having visited my blog, you already know we agree on comments :). And haha - CAPTCHA strikes again!

Is there anything you would like to have changed on my blog ??
You've got a cute banner - and very relevant of course. Love the colours. The only thing I'd suggest is a content list, so that the new readers can find old(er) stuff they may be interested in. Just my 2 cents ;).

  5. I love your design. It's so YOU lol

I like when bloggers interact because what's the point of doing it otherwise. IMO anyway

  6. Music drives me crazy! I get it if that's another aspect of your blog (like you blog about your cello hobby and books), but at least make it something easy to turn off or disable! If I have to hunt for it, I am not inclined to continue coming back to leave comments.

  7. How did I miss mentioning CAPTCHA? I think its better just to have the comments open up in a new tab (less spam consideration). I have that- as you've noticed XD Thanks for your comment :D Comments are important & I definitely think communication is a key... Oh, right. I AM addicted to Twitter! I quite like it when book bloggers include Twitter and Goodreads quite high up in their sidebar. I don't dig.

  8. Ugh, CAPTCHA. It is horrible and it makes me want to stab things, especially now that they have that tiny blurry snapshot of house numbers.

I also like simiplicity, and music is a huge turnoff, too. I like our blog design, although sometimes I feel it gets a little busy if we have a lot of stuff going on. I think about changing it sometimes, but I'm too lazy to really investigate--I'd want something that still retained our identity.

  9. Oh yeah Parajunkee is an awesome designer. I wish I had her amazing skills...but I think my head would explode. I agree with you on the captcha. That being said, I will still leave a comment, but if I can't get the code right after 3 tries, I bail.

I don't like music because it usually clogs the bandwith.

  10. Eeepsss. Captcha. I HATE it... honestly, my disdain for it is so high it's that bad now. I comment a lot on my tablet and it's even more annoying with Captcha. Ugh.
Your header is beautiful.. it's exactly the type of header I ADORE. Gosh... those cartoon/vectors are just tooooo cute. And those monkeys are ADORABLE. I love it!!!

  11. I don't mind a lot going on as long as it doesn't take forever to load . . . do hate proving that I'm human . . . which is up for debate *puts on foil hat*

  12. Captcha is always tiring for me. I read blogs on my phone and I like to comment when I read them but captcha and my phone do not get along.

I love that designs show everyone a little bit about who you are. That's what blogging should be about!
