Jeff is going to a new school in Santa Monica . He is the only one that can Kimberlee . She hasn't moved on yet, and she needs to give back everything she has taken. She works with Jeff to give things back. Jeff is interested in Sera , who also had some issues with Kimberlee.

I didn't know what to expect from this novel. I enjoyed reading it from Jeff's Point of View. I haven't read the The Scarlet Pimpernel  that this is supposed to based on at all. I did enjoy seeing active parents in the book, but there was a scene that didn't need to be there.

Stand alone

Abbie Sinclair has lost the love of her life. She heads to Stargazey point to recuperate. She stays in this Bed & Breakfast with the Crispin family. She learns that things are going well for them. She also meets Cab Reynolds who is dealing with some issues. He is working on something secret. Abbie ends up making friends with the family, and healing from her issues. I didn't feel the heat from this romance.

This book was predictable and loved the family.

  1. Life After Theft is based on the Scarlet Pimpernel? I didn't know that. Across a Star Swept Sea is based on it as well, but I haven't read the original. I don't think I'll hurry out and buy either of these, thanks for your thoughts:)

  2. Awesome reviews! Sadly, LIFE AFTER DEATH wasn't my favorite AP novel either. Boo. So tragic because I totally love the cover!

  3. Hmmmm I don't think either of these will be for me, but I'm not surprised about LIFE AFTER THEFT. I've heard some very so-so reviews, and I just don't think they'll resonate with me. Thanks for your honest reviews though, Julie!

  4. I am sorry that neither of these made the grade. I was hoping they would be better. It seems to me that several of the new YA releases are falling short for some reason. Thanks!
