Sorta Like a Rock star-- Book Review
Sorta like a Rock star comes out in May 2010.
Loved the cover.
Amber Appleton lives in a bus. Ever since her moms boyfriend kicked them out, her mom and her totally loyal dog. Bobby big boy ( aka Thrice B) have been camped out in the back of Hello Yellow ( the school bus her moms drives). But Amber the self proclaimed princess of hope, refuses to sweat the bad stuff.( Back of the book)
Its beautiful story and loved how this was written. Amber always shortens everything..Amber is friends with 4 awesome boys who all seem to have some disablities of sort. She is part of the Fab 5. She is a Hugger and wants to help those in need. She is a very strong and independent young woman.
This book is in 4 parts
1. Feel the pain
2. Freak Scene
3. Puke & Cry
4. We are not alone
Amber does good deeds at Korean church, visits old folks , and talks to a veteran. I was surprised how much she did to help people considering her situation.
Amber story is a hard life but through it all she is happy. This book does get some what religious for a young adult novel and very deep, but I thought the addition of haiku's were a great add to the story and made the story flow.
Beautiful story of Hope and I cried while reading this book.

Sisters Red-- Book Review
This book comes out June 2010

This is tale of two sisters. Rosie March and Scarlett March. The story is told in 2 alternating point of views of Rose and Scarlett.
Rosie is the younger of the sisters. Scarlett is the oldest and most driven. They have an unbreakable bond.
Scarlett hunts fenris( werewolves) and can tell when they are around. She wears a read cloak and acts innocent. She will do what ever it takes to take care of her sister. Scarlett has been doing it for some time and lost an eye from an earlier battle, but Rosie is just starting to join the fight.
I loved the Apple Tree Festival ...and could picture that whole scene. The girls live in a small town and during the story they decide to move to a bigger town to help kill more of the fenris ,and try and find who is the biggest threat to all the people safety. They need to find the person that will be turning into a fenris.
Loved the Dragonfly analogy ..its was well put for the story.
Sisters =my heart and so true.
Loved the romance , fighting of Fenris , and overall story of sisters. I wanted to call my sisters and just talk with them.
I wanted to get a Red cloak and be just as driven as Scarlett..she reminded me of Buffy Summers( Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and a little like Selene from Underworld Series.
This is the 2nd book by Jackson Pearce.

Reality Check-- Book Review
This book comes out June 2010.
Sixteen year olds Charlie, Kieran, Brooke and Hallie have just been signed up for thier own reality televsion show. They can't even believe it. "You'll be the The Hills meets ICarly." ( Back of the book)
This book was quick read for me. Its a cute story.
This was realistic and had the parents around in the book which is great. Loved the chapter titles ..
I liked that this book gave a glimpse into what happens with friends when they get their own reality show and the effects of it. There was some name dropping of brands but it was too much and teen speak seem normal.
Book Review= 3.5/4
