Rock of Ages-- CD review

Rock of Ages -- CD Review

I got the CD from One2One to listen and review. Here are my thoughts on it:

Rock of Ages is a Original Broadway show that 22 songs that take you back to the 80’s. In the show it has American Idol Constantine Maroulis. It is set 1987 in the legendary Sunset Strip rock club, a small town girl meets a big city dreamer and they fall in love to the greatest metal songs on the 80’s.

I liked listening to the CD because it too me back to the 80’s and I was remembering the songs and where I was or my thoughts on it. This isn’t a musical I would see if I were on Broadway. I would rather see Wicked or Les Miserable’s or Phantom of the Opera. I guess I’m a Andrew Lloyd Webber fan. I have seen the Les Miserable’s and Phantom of the Opera on Stage but I only have Wicked soundtrack.

I liked Wanted Dead or Alive( Jon Bon Jovi) -- made me think of Discovery Channels-- The Deadliest Catch. I love that show. It took me back to middle school and the school dances.

I also liked More than Words can say…which made me think dancing in my jr high dance along with Every Rose has its Thorn by Poison and this too reminded me waiting on the sidelines to be asked to dance by a guy who was a friend or wanting to be asked to danced by the popular boy.

It was a okay CD. I wouldn’t buy this with my own money nor would I see this show. That’s my opinion on it. I have listened to this CD a couple of times already. It was great to remember the 80’s through the CD. If you want to remember ballads, rocks songs then this is the CD for you.

  2. That's pretty much what I thought after watching the Tony's. Might be fun nostalgia, but not worth spending money on it. Thanks for letting me know!
