An eccentric new girl. A brooding socialite. The scion of one of New York’s wealthiest families. A promising filmmaker. As students at the exclusive Chadwick School, Phoebe, Lauren, Nick, and Patch already live in a world most teenagers only dream about. They didn’t ask to be Society members. But when three of them receive a mysterious text message promising success and fame beyond belief, they say yes to everything. Even to the harrowing initiation ceremony in a gritty warehouse downtown, and to the ankh-shaped tattoo they’re forced to get on the nape of their necks. Once they’re part of the Society, things begin falling into place for them. Week after week, their ambitions are fulfilled. It’s all perfect—until a body is found in Central Park with no distinguishing marks except for an ankh-shaped tattoo. (Goodreads.com)
This book reminded me of Gossip Girl and Skulls ( the Movie).
I did like that there was mystery element through out the book. As a reader, you are taken along the journey with the 4 kids. I think that as Juniors they are invited to this secret society and all their dreams are full filled and what price will asked of them in the end. I did like that it centered on Egyptian themes.
I loved how the story picked up last part of the book. I wanted to know more about Nick/Patch friendship and families, but I will most likely find out the in the next book- This is another series. I did like that all these characters This is a Young Adult novel, and I would let my daughter read this and we would discuss it.
I bought this book and this is my Honest review of it.
I give this a 3 on my scale--Good for a 1 time read.
