Low red moon--Book review

Avery Hood is reeling from the loss of her parents--and the fact that she can't remember what happened to them even though she was there.

She's struggling to adjust to life without them, and to living with her grandmother, when she meets Ben, who isn't like any guy she's ever met before.
It turns out there's a reason why, and Ben's secret may hold the key to Avery finding out what happened to her parents...
But what if that secret changes everything she knows about--and feels for--Ben?( Goodreads.com)

Thanks to the author for the book and this is my Honest review.

I loved this cover , and seeing some of the colors in RED, but I know that this isn't the final cover and the book is bigger.

I loved the cover and some of the words were in red. I loved the characters of Avery and Ben. They seemed like normal kids with some supernatural  around them.

Avery lives in the forest and they have lived there for many years. Her parents sudden death means that she has to live with Grandma. School is rough for her because she now has a blood red stripe in her hair. When she gets to school after the death of her parents, she is instantly attracted to Ben.

There was lots of making out between Avery and Ben, and they both wanted more kissing. I loved the scene in the dinner and the talking/making out and being interrupted. I did like this take on the mythology and different from some other books out there.

This book did leave me with more questions about why is she so rare? Grandma History ? Why is she connected to the forest ? Why is she connected to Ben ??

There is going to be a 2nd book , and I hope my questions get answered. This book comes out in September 2010 and this is book I would pass along to my daughter to read.

This book is written under a stage name because this author has other books out there and this is her first foray into paranormal. I'm just curious if I have read anything by her real name.
