The Emerald Talisman-- Book Review

The Emerald Talisman (Volume 1)
Julia is an emotion reader and is talking with friends about super powers. She works at a deli, and her dad works alot. Her aunt lives around the corner with her new husband , and her mom disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

She has been watched for many years by Nicholas. He also saved  her when she was in the forest trying to get home , and she was being chased by others.

This book at times reminds me of twilight but other times its better with characters. Just a couple lines or scenes , it like twilight , but I know that its not. I like that there is family present and also near by with an Aunt.

Julia has many friends at school , and they are a support to her as she is to them. She makes friends with Phil who just moved to the town. Phil gets hurts and Julia tries to help , but she ends up being more of outcast because she was the last one that saw him.

I didn't like that she became swoony over a guy who saved her life , and began thinking about him at all times.

There are times she seems like a strong girl but other times she gets wishy washy about her self worth and being able to defend herself against vampires.

I did like that this book stayed near the vampire canon . I have more questions about Nick's family and wondering why she is keeping secrets from him. I loved her name ..being that I get called that many times .

Great debut novel and can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Best Line: I guess the choice was up to me

This is a young adult novel and very clean and loved she has lots of friends.

Book Review= 4/B
