Get to Know Book Bloggers #2.7--Book Signings by Authors

Book signing ?? Thoughts

I love book signings!  They are fantastic! I have only went to two since the authors don't seem to make it my way much though.  I have met Alyson Noel and TK Richardson.  Both of them were so sweet and a delight to meet!--Amy Stuffed Bookshelf

I don't get a lot of authors in my area that do book signing events. If I really like him/her I will go. The last big one was Sarah Palin and I wasn't standing in a three hour line to see her. --Tina's Book Reviews

Love to get to them when I can but I don't wait in line for more than 30 minutes for anyone.--Michelle Redheaded bookchild

I love to go to book signings for authors I have enjoyed reading. I like to hear them talk and tell stories. It's also fun getting to meet new people who like the same author you do.--The Book Vixen

I've never actually been to a book signing because I always seem to be busy when they come to my area. I love the idea of them though. Getting to meet real, live authors? How exciting! --Natalie Mindful Musing

I haven't been to many book signings, and honestly, I'm not really an autograph girl, I never have been.  I just don't really get "starstruck".  But it is fun to meet authors and I like to get things signed for our followers when I can.  The best part about signings is getting to talk to the other bloggers and book-lovers!  And if I really love a book, I just enjoy getting the chance to hear what the author has to say!--Andye Reading Teen

I did go to MANY signings at BEA, but I've never been to a normal book signing. --Jennifer Reading with Tequila

I like going to book signings but sadly don't get very many ones around here that I want to go to.  The last signing I did go to was to see Kimberly Pauley who writes Sucks To Be Me and Still Sucks to be me, that was a lot of fun.--Rebecca Biblignome

I have quite a few signed books and for the most part I don't care either way. I do have a few of my favorite books signed by the author's and those are very special to me. The lines are always so chaotic for signings so it's not something I love going to overall but it's can be fun to meet authors. I had a great time when the RWA (Romantic Writer's Association) came to Orlando. You could actually spend some time talking so that was fun. BEA is just crazy so not as much fun...but free books!--Karen FWIW

I've only been to one book signing and it was VERY SMALL, and I LOVED it! I got to meet one of my favorite authors - we had plenty of time to just visit and chat about all different things - books, reviews, life, etc. It was an ideal experience.--Jen Twimom

I think book signings are great and amazing! I’ve never been to one… YET, but am looking forward to a time when I’ll make it to one and I hope to meet some fellow bloggers while I’m there!--Lisa Bound By Books

I've never been to one so I can't say.--Emily what book is that ??

Kelli: Sure, if it's in my hometown. Natalie will drive to go to a signing, but not so much me.

Natalie: I will go as far as 5 hours away for an author I want to meet! If it is really out of reach I have been known to conveniently plan a family "quick trip" that just so happens to be where the signing is... my hubby is no dummy he knows when I am scheming.--So Rather Reading

I haven't been to a book signing and many of them seem to based in San Francisco. I would love to totally meet my local authors and get some books signed by them. I need to be a better fan and make it to those book signings.

Stay tuned for the next question
