Get to know Book Bloggers #2.8 -- Classic Books

Have you read any of the classics ?? Favorites ??

I love To Kill A Mockingbird and people give me strange looks when I tell them that! LOL I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Little Women. That one has to be my favorite!--Amy Stuffed Bookshelf

My favorite is Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and A Brave New World--Tinas Book Reviews
Pride And Prejudice
I've only read a few and the few that I have read, I can't even remember what the book's about. I'm planning on joining a "read the classics" type reading challenge for 2011 to correct this. --The Book Vixen

Jane Eyre As an English major, I've actually read quite a few of the classics. My favorites tend to be in the genre of Gothicism or Romanticism. Some I would highly recommend would be Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte, Dracula by Bram Stoker, The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, and The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. I also love Edgar Allan Poe, William Faulkner, Emily Dickinson, and Edna St. Vincent Millay. --Natalie Mindful Musing

I've read a decent amount of classics although I do have a long list of the ones I'd still like to get to one day. The Inferno by Dante Alighieri is a major favorite and I'm a big fan of Emma by Jane Austen too.--Jennifer Reading with Tequila

Yes, some for school.  I didn't mind reading The Odyssey because I like mythology a lot.  another good one to read was The Man in the Iron Mask.--Rebecca Biblignome

No. I'm horrible about that and I am acutally making that my reading challenge for next year. I will be reading 6 classics. 3 chosen by my husband and 3 chosen by a blogger friend of mine. I'm hoping I can come around and learn to like a few.--Karen FWIW

Define "classics" - I can answer later, but my guess is going to be no.--Jen Twimom

I have a few classics on my bookshelves and many more on my Kindle. I’ve read Pride and Prejudice, but that was years ago.  Also, I’ve read most of Dracula…. And right now, I can’t think of others for some reason. Sadly, I’ll admit that I haven’t read enough of them and having them on my shelves and my Kindle will help me rectify that soon-ish I hope. --Lisa Bound By Books

I'll tell you which ones I haven't read- Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre.  I should do something about that!--Emily What book is that

Kelli: I have. Anything by Jane Austen is a favorite with me. Also George Orwell's 1984.

Natalie: Yes, I love Kate Chopin & Jane Austen --So Rather Reading

I have read some of the classics in high school. I need to read more of them. I did finally read Wuthering Heights and have a couple more books to read, but I think whats putting me off is that the books are so serious and thick books.
