ReplyDelete5 years wow that is just an accomplishment! I hope you continue to share more for the community :) Shadow and Bone!!! I'm really dying to read that... as well as Hemlock. I love to visit England someday <3
ReplyDeleteMy Introduction post here

Austenland! A Jane Austen-infused tour of England would probably be my literary vacation choice, too. Most of my favorite literary settings aren't even real places, I now realize--Panem, Narnia, the Star Wars universe. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely hard to imagine whether or not I'll still be blogging in five years!
ReplyDeleteNice getting to know more about you Julie. Hope you will visit my post; http://fredasvoice.blogspot.ca/2012/06/armchair-bea-day-one-introductions.html?
ReplyDeleteOoh, Hemlock was pretty fantastic! England was my second choice for literary locations -- I've been once and desperately want to go back!
ReplyDeleteEngland is beautiful. I highly recommend visiting.
ReplyDeleteHemlock and Shadow and Bone are both books I am excited to read soon! Good to hear they are some of your faves!
ReplyDeleteI do find myself getting a little more picky in my reads since I started blogging 2 months ago already. Maybe because blogging takes away from your reading time so you want to make sure it is something you really want to read?
My intro!
I really need to read Shadow and Bone one of these days. I have the galley, now I just need the time!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're not burnt out in 5 years! I found I was a little overloaded a few months ago so I took a LONG break. it's nice to be back now ... sometimes a break is necessary. :)
I would love to visit Austenland! It is on my "dream vacation" list. I think it would be fantastic and would make my dreams come true (Ok that was sappy but close).
ReplyDeleteI agree that I got more picky about what I read too! I think it is because we have so many more choices :)
I'm going to read Shadow and Bone someday, hopefuly soon. Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteOne of the interesting things about going to Bath and making your way down the narrow streets and up the very narrow staircases in some of the houses is that it gives you a visceral feel for the period. I always imagine climbing the stairs in a long dress--and with the expectation that I should do it gracefully?!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm about ready to start Shadow and Bone myself, and I'm so excited to hear that you loved it so much! I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteOh! Don't burn yourself out. I've been nearly there and had to take a step back and re-evaluate why I was doing this. If you love it, then do what you need to do to care for it, and your own motivation for blogging =)
ReplyDelete5 years is a great accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteFinally, I was starting to wonder if I was the only one who has become more picky in my reading. So many books out there. Blogging is really hard to keep up with. Five years is a long time. Shadow and Bone was awesome!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to meet you! Hope to see your around a bit more at Armchair BEA.
It is nice to meet you. I would love to go to Austenland too!
ReplyDelete5 years of blogging is really impressive!! Kudos to you for keeping up that long. =) I've heard some really fabulous things about Shadow & Bone, I'm really looking forward to reading it!
ReplyDeleteIt was great learning more about you! Have fun during Armchair BEA!
-Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life
Wouldn't you just love to sit at a high tea with Jane Austen?! I so agree that her time, and England, would be a lovely place to visit. Happy BEA Week!
ReplyDeleteI too have become more picky in what I read after I started blogging. I used to read "trashy" books but now I try to read across all genres.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting. Austenland would be awesome! Nice to meet you. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAustenland would be brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI love England as well and would like to go on a Jane Austen tour.
ReplyDeleteAustenland would be SO FUN to visit, haha... love that idea. =D
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think Shadow and Bone is haunting me... I keep seeing it everywhereeeee but it's just making me more excited to read it. Hopefully soon now that it's out.
5 years is a wonderful accomplishment given that you have 5 monkeys to deal with and still fit in all that reading. Congrats!
