Throne of Glass Book Review

Celena is an assassin  who has been working in the mine fields. She is chosen to be the representative to be tested as the kings champion. Her escort and guard is Chaol. He spars with her when he has the chance. Dorian is the prince , and he choose Celena to be his champion.

She is heading toward the castle and during that time, and while there things do change for her. She becomes girly, and not so much an assassin. She plays the piano, flirts with Chaol and Dorian, reads books, and gushes about clothes. There is kissing involved with some boys.

Celena makes friends with Nehemia who is visiting from another county . We only see 2 of the 19 tests given to all the champions. There is magic involved during the test time , and she is trying to solve the mystery surrounding some symbols.

I found something lacking in this book. There were also many points of views during the story. I almost stopped this book because I could see a triangle happening. I also noticed that Celena personality changed . It seemed out of place for the gushing of clothes. I do have a fave boy , but this story's pacing was slow. I hate when the the hype monster is out for this book , because it didn't live up to the hype. I was disappointed in this story.

Best Line: She lied , and Chaol knew it. She knew plenty about this forest, knew that the denizens of this place had once been faeries: gnomes, sprites, nymphs, goblins, many more names than anyone count or remember. All ruled by their larger human like cousins, the immortal fae--the original inhabitants and settlers of the continent, and the oldest beings in Erilea.

Book Review = C

Thanks to Bloomsbury for the book and this is my Honest Review . This book comes out Aug 7

  1. It bums me out when the bad ass assassin chick turns gushy over boys. If that's the case here.

Have you read Grave Mercy? I liked that one and she's an assassin. Although that moves kind of slow too.

  2. Yup, I felt the same way. It didn't really live up to the hype. I was expecting more of the tests to be shown. That was a bit of a let down.

    1. Yes It was a let down and then with the personality changes. The Hype monster was big with this one. I wanted more tests too.
