Crewel Book Review

Adelice knows how to weave. She has some special talents with her weaving. She has to hide her gift for the past 8 years. She makes a mistake , and in an instant loses her family.

In the Western Coventry, she learns more about the social and political in the region. She learns that things aren't always what they seem to be. She is snarky girl who didn't want to be captured. She hasn't been put to death since she did try to run away. She makes enemies and friends.

The word building in book was amazingly detailed. I could picture this as a movie. I love that Adelice found some romance , but I didn't trust either love interest.

This book surprised me , which doesn't happen very often. I could guess something but this book has twists and turns. I held off trusting any character because there are so many secrets being kept , and no on is really forthcoming with the truth. It made me think of DR. House ( Everyone Lies) .

Adelice was smart and snarky and didn't like her role , that she had to play. She got to see some of the perks and also the downfall of her choices. This is a fierce read , and it had some amazing characters. There was a triangle but it could go either way. Both love interests were both well written. I could fall for Josten or Erik. She deals with some mean adversaries like Cormac or Maela. This book was rich in details. Adeline can work some magic on the loom. This book was amazing.

I did think of the movie Wanted & Matrix for this book.

Best Line: Don't flatter yourself. I have a fetish for for cold prison floors.
Have we run out of mascara ?? I ask in mock horror. As much as I love your particular brand of sarcasm, I'm going to need you to bite your tongue.

Book Review= B+

This book comes out Oct 16

Thanks to Macmillan for this book and this is my Honest Review

  1. I'm looking forward to this book, even though I don't like dystopia. It seems kind of like a fantasy dystopia, so I might be more inclined to like it. The plot sounds great.
