Amelia Gannon feels invisible ,and cuts herself. Her mom and dad adopted 3 boys from Guatemala , and they run the house. Her dad has also checked out with parenting . She works at a hardware store , and is best friends with Ali. She loves to do wood working.
Michael Brooks with Blue hair meets her at the skate park, and slowly integrates himself into her life. He has his own crap salad to deal with. Brooks helps Gannon deal with her family, and she slowly learns about his scars. Their relationship starts fast, and everyone tells her to stay away from him.

Gannon is a moody girl when Brooks is gone for 35 days, and then their relationship turns sexual. She also tries E   with him. Brooks is helping his foster brother with drugs. Things change for them , when her parents go out of town.

This book is dark and gritty. Gannon has her cutting issues , and Brooks has his issues. He really loves her & shows her just how much. I had ended up crying at the end of this book. Gannon has some great friends with Ali & Ricardo. I know that this reality does exist , and there are many kids experiencing foster families, cutting, and absent parents. I had read The Fault Line and I didn't like it. I wanted to give this author another chance , and this book was amazing. The story is still with me after I finished the book.

Book Review= B+
