Abraham Lincoln- Vampire Hunter-- Book Review

Abe Lincoln lost his mother when he was nine years old. His mother died from an ailment called the "Milk sickness". Only later he did learn that his mother's deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect on Abe's father's unfortunate debts. When the truth became known to Abraham Lincoln , he wrote in his journal. "Henceforth my life shall be one of rigorous study and devotion. I shall be learned in all things -- a master of mind and body. And this mastery shall have but one purpose." That purpose ? The Elimination of all vampires( Back of the book)

I found this to be a fast read. I felt I actually learned something about Abraham Lincoln and what an clever way to get millions of people to read Abraham Lincoln's Journal.

The introduction by Seth was funny and set this book to fun and interesting. I would love to meet Henry and hear his stories but alas, Henry lets read all about Abe's history.

I could picture Abe Lincoln being a Vampire Hunter. It told of his hunts and people he has meet along the way to becoming the President of the United States. I loved the quotes and hearing about Abe's relationships with friends and wife. I could feel his loss of his son's.

I did try reading his other book of Pride & Prejudice and Zombies. I think I had a tough time with this book because I had already read the original version. I'll have to try reading it again.

I already have a friend who wants to borrow this book, and another friend mentioned that it would be great for her son ( Teenager) to read this book.

This book comes out March 2, 2010 and this is my Honest Review and thanks to Grand Central for the book.

Week and Weekend wrap up

This week was the first week back in school for my kids and getting back to the routine. Yeah.

I also had some issues with my kids school district and registering my daughter for K. The teachers have no clue and the information given to us the parents isn't very clear. I had to make 3 trips to Centralized location for all students. I have made many calls regarding unclearness , and I also have had another issue with their new grading system for students. It was missing some important information that should have been there.(little Vent)

I'm an Auntie again- my sister Amy had her baby girl. As my daughter A said-- she finally popped.

Planning a date night soon.

We watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs last night-- great family movie.

I donated some books to my kids library at school.

I have a massage scheduled this weekend.

Thats whats happening here-- Whats going on with you ??

Worst Case--- Book Review

This book comes out Feb 2010 and this is my Honest Review and thanks to Grand Central for the book.

The son of New York's wealthist families is snatched off the the street and held hostage. His parents can't save him , because this kidnapper isn't demanding money. Instead he quizzes his prisoner on the price others pay for his life of luxury. In this exam, wrong answers are fatal.

Detective Michael Bennett leads the investigation. With 10 kids of his own, he can't begin to understand what could lead someone to target anyone's children. Their reach extends all the way to the FBI, who send in their top abduction specialist , Agent Emily Parker. Bennett's love and life suddenly got more complicated. ( Goodreads.com)

I found this to be a fast read. It was nice to see Micheal Bennett again. Michel is a single dad to 10 kids and a detective. The kids ages go from 17-6.

There was some romance in the book. There was allot of action and some murders. Interesting bad guy who asks questions about a variety of topics to teenagers to see if they smart enough to survive.

Its great that Michael has help with his 10 kids, but it didn't seem realistic to me..and I have 5. He has a nanny and Father Seamus that help out. He even has time to help out with basketball team coaching..

Usual Patterson Fare

The Dark Divine-- Book Review

Thanks to PrincessBookie for this book and this is my Honest review.

I finished this book last night and its a good story.

Grace Divine is daughter of a pastor. Grace's life seems so perfect. She is in AP courses and helps the needy. Jude is her brother and he also helps the needy too. Daniel is a childhood friend that comes back into her life after being gone for 3 years. Daniel has had a rough life and something bad went down between Jude . Grace realizes that her family has been keeping secrets from her and her life isn't as perfect as it seems. I liked the analogy of the lose thread of her favorite shirt..if you pull on the lose thread, the shirt will unravel.

I did like mentioning of the prodigal son story from the bible about the Good son vs. the bad son.

The book brought up a good question: Who are the monsters ? Are they vampires or werewolves or some who abuses children or names calling . Are they hiding in plain sight ?

I loved this cover . The book does leave the door open for another book...

Fallen/ Hush Hush review

Fallen is about Angels. This was another talked about book in 2009. Luce is always meeting Dan every 17 years and dies or doesn't last for very long. I would to meet and be attracted to 2 boys in my first week of reform school. Loved the cast of characters like Gabbe, Cam, Arriana. This takes place in the south at a boarding school. Luce colors to wear at this reform school is black. Dan has always been in love with Luce. He also runs hot and cold with her . By the 16th chapter I finally understood more about Dan and why he acted certain ways. I liked this book because it has a love triangle, mystery, and romance. I loved the cover of this book and its a good story. The next book is Torment and comes out Sept 2010. This I'm excited for ;)

Hush Hush is also about Angels. This was another big talked about book in 2009. This book has Patch and his mysterous ways. Nora Grey is drawn to Patch and can't decide to run or hide from him. She meets in her biology class. Nora along with her friend Vee are looking for love. Nora is trying to be a student and solve paranormal all on her own. They live in Farmhouse at the end of town. She has a cell phone but the house doesn't have fast internet..that didn't make sense. Nora seems to know the cops better than I thought she would. Her mom is busy working and is hardly around like in Twilight.( Pet Peeve right now). This book mentions the Book of Enoch and this is important to the story along with Cheshvan.I didn't really like Patch or understand why he loved Nora.

If you read either of these books..what was your favorite ?? I will continue to read both in these series but I preferred Fallen over Hush Hush.

These are mY BOOKS and my honest thoughts on them.
