Kestrel loves to play and win at Bite and Sting. She is best friends with Jess and Ronan. Ronan is attracted to her. She is the daughter of the General and a Valorian.
She is shopping with Jess in the market place. She bids the highest amount and buys a slave. Smith is not what he seems to be. By the winter's end , Kestrel needs to make up her mind about marriage or joining the military.
Kestrel starts to spend time with Smith/Arin . He is of a different race, and he is Halleni. She can't seem to figure him out. They are both studying each other, and they both like to play Bite and Sting. There is an attraction, but he is her slave.
Things change on for both of them on the Midwinter's Ball. Many secrets come to light that night.
This book had action, romance, and secrets. This book was amazing, and I didn't know what to expect. I found the characters lovely, and this book made me thing of Leverage ( The long con) . I loved the wit and interaction between Kestrel and Arin. I loved that Kestrel is smart , sassy girl. I can't wait too see what happens next in the story. That last line was a ending and I have so many feelings about this book. I finished it last night and still thinking about. This is one book I will reread again.

Bodee has lost his family to murder . He moves into a family friends home and the girl also has secrets too. Alexi loves getting notes from captain lyric's on her desk. They always brighten her day. She is keeping a secret so big that she is hurting her self . Her friends are there but also dealing with their own boyfriend issues.
Alexi and Bodee are both trying to normal since their incidents. Bodee is the only one she can talk to , and she finally starts opening up to him. Hayden is interested in Alexi but her heart is set on captain lyric's.
I adored this book and all the songs . I finished this book in one day . I loved the ending and enjoyed seeing active parents and friends in the book. There was mention of hook ups and drinking. This book was well done dealing with some very tough topics.

Sera and Zen have been transported to 1609 and are hiding from Diotech. They have been helping a family . Zen isn't feeling to well , and Sera gets tried for witchcraft.
Sera is transported to the future , and there is someone else just like her only better. Kaelen is just like her but has different abilities. She doesn't know who to trust . She runs into someone from her past, and the key to helping her and Zen.
Sera still has many strong feelings for Zen , but she is attracted to Kaelen. This book had twists & turns. Many more secrets are revealed, and things aren't what they seem. This book was a decent 2nd book in a series, and I so wanted to see what would happen with them. This book had action, romance, and even some laughs.

Victor and Eli both try to become Extraordinary people. They both die in different ways, and this affects their powers. Victor meets some others, and his life hasn't been easy. Eli's life changes too.
I loved this book and how it discussed superhero's and how they came to be , and the discussion about nature & nurture. Also whether or not someone has a soul after they die, and come back. This book was a wild ride, and loved all the different point of views. This book was amazing good.

Nathan is a half code of white witch and black witch. His father is the most evil man , and has killed others for their powers. His mother has killed herself, and has been living with Grandma.
His mother married and loved another, but she also loved Marcus who is Nathan's dad. Nathan has two other siblings and they both treat him differently. Nathan has been living away from his family , and also has been living in a cage. When he is 17 , he will get his 3 gifts. Nathan knows that he is different from other witches.
This book at times did remind me of Harry Potter. I loved that this book explored prejudices with black and white. Evil is also subjective because the supposed good people are hunting and torturing them. Some of them are tattooed . I have had some time to think about this book , and it didn't wow me . I do want to see what happens next to Nathan, and those he trusts. I adore the cover , and loved that this took place in England.
