This is a story of a girl who mom has disappeared . Her dad is raising her. Taking a bath after getting a period, she learns more about herself. Jade is named after a hurricane and that's when her parents met.
Jade is plus sized , and only child of her parents. Her dad it seems always Googles something , and is there when she buys her first tampons/pads. She has 2 best friends of Lainey and Cori.
Jade keeps bumping Luke , and when she finds out that she is mermaid, she wants to tell her friends. This causes her to stress with her friendships. At this time, since she got her period, she can finally hear her mom and talk with her.
Jade does all that she can to rescue her mom. I loved that she tells her dad , and keeps him informed of finding mom.
Loved the romance with Luke , and this is cute story. This book at times reminded me of Forgive my Fins humor.
