Confession --Reading Habits

How has blogging and reviewing changed your reading habits? Do you read a genre now that you wouldn't have tried prior? Or have you been turned off by a genre you used to love?

yes blogging has changed my reviewing habits. I do look at books more critically and notice the tropes. I have been reading more fantasy books lately. I have also been introduced to so many new authors and their books. I also got introduced to the Urban Fantasy through blogging. Thanks Karen for introducing me to Terrible.

I can't say that I have been turned off by a certain genre but I have noticed that I don't read as much historical fiction . I did read before kids the whole Outlander series..right now. I can't read that big of book. I was even reading about Jane and Queen Elizabeth. I even read some other authors but now that I have been reviewing them...I am surprised that  I liked them.

I do try to mix it up because one can not read paranormal all the time,  or even fantasy before one starts to see tropes or even get burnt out on reading.

Thanks Pam and Karen for this topic

  1. I'm open to trying most genres these days. It doesn't always work out but I've found a lot of great books that way.

  2. The only genre that I read more of now is YA. I never really liked romance and I'm not too interested in Sci-Fi. I think I used to read more contemporary but now I have other books that I would prefer to read.
