Sophia DeBussi lives the picture perfect life , and she was the mean girl in high school. Sophia and Skipp are married for the past 13 years, and they take a trip to celebrate their anniversary. Skipp leaves her , and ends up dying on the shore with some money taken. He also had taken many of the people of Whiskey Creeks money. Sophia has no clue, and that he is being investigated by the FBI. She has finished alcohol  rehab, and their marriage had some abuse in it.

Ted has been in love with her since forever . He is a writer , and he didn't invest with Skipp. He needs some help at his home . He also starts dating Eve , who is also part of the group. Ted has feelings for her but not the same as with Sophia.
Sophia gets a job working for Ted. She is also dealing with the Towns people over what Skipp taking the money. Alexa ( who is Sophia's daughter) is being bullied at the school. Sophia is cooking and cleaning over at Ted's place. She is trying to make up for all the poor choices she made over her lifetime. She is also dealing with family issues with her mom& also with the Debussi family. She doesn't really get along with the gang.
Ted has always loved Sophia . I loved that this book has the gang, and we are able to see what has happened with all the other characters. I love that families are growing, and that friendships are being made. I loved how the author tackled the tough issue with bullying, and loved seeing how Sophia was dealing with a different kind of Bullying. I loved this romance , and more secrets are revealed. I love the gang .

The sensory child Gets organized
for review
Touchstone
Sept 3

Every year, tens of thousands of young children are diagnosed with disorders that make it difficult for them to absorb the external world. Parents of sensory kids—like those with sensory processing disorder, anxiety disorder, AD/HD, autism, bipolar disorder, and OCD—often feel frustrated and overwhelmed, creating stress in everyday life for the whole family. Now, with The Sensory Child Gets Organized, there’s help and hope.

As a professional organizer and parent of a sensory child, Carolyn Dalgliesh knows firsthand the struggles parents face in trying to bring out the best in their rigid, anxious, or distracted children. She provides simple, effective solutions that help these kids thrive at home and in their day-to-day activities, and in this book you’ll learn ( goodreads)

This book was so full of information and good ideas to help with my kids that might have this issue. It also had great ideas for trips and dealing with schools. It also covered ways in helping a child when they are very frustrated .

Not a Drop to Drink & Twinmaker Book Reviews

Not a Drop to Drink
KT Books
stand alone
Edelweiss
Sept 24

Lynn and her mom are in a post survival  world trying to defend their pond. They don't have many friends in the country. She is trying to survive in a world that pays for water.  There is a neighbor who helps her out, and also with sharing of supplies. Many secrets are revealed, and learns more about her mom and dad.
Lynn starts opening up her heart and caring for others. This book had a realistic ending and very light on the romance.

The book was slow but once new characters were introduced it moved quicker. This world could become like this one.

Review

Libby and Clair are best friends in the future, and going to school in Northern California. They are all connected to many media ( online). Libby wants to become beautiful, and she got a email to improve herself. Libby is dating Zep , but he has kissed Clair.

They travel through these tunnels or jumps all over the world. Clair realizes that Libby is different and it may be a virus. Clair asks Jesse for some help because he is stainer or old school. Clair also gets some help from q.

She doesn't know who to trust and meets others of the WHOLE movement. She finds out that there are many secrets , and she becomes the face of the movement  ie. Katniss. This book was full of action, and many thought provoking ideas from being plugged in, beauty, and traveling by transport. This book took place in Northern California , and also the whole world. I didn't like the cheating at all, and a very big turn off. I did love how Clair changed and improved herself.

This book did have me guessing  who was behind the movements. I did enjoy the friendship between q & Clair.

Just One Year Book Review

Just One Year
Dutton
2nd in a series
publisher
Oct 15

This is Willem journey. He gets hurt after leaving Alyson ( lulu) , and slowly makes his way back home. He is still moping over her , and trying to remember more about her. He does have some relationships through out the book. He even tries to figure out more about Lulu . He also goes to Cancun , and tries to find her, but unsuccessful.
He visits with his mother, and even does a film . He finally starts putting his life in order, and finding his dream.

I felt that this book was underwhelming. Maybe I had high expectations on the ending . But things do come together for Willem, and his book is about happy accidents. I even enjoyed the shout out to Adam Wilde . I wanted more of the ending . This book made me frustrated because of the choices Willem made through out it. Thanks so much to my friends who let me vent my frustrations over this book. This was one my wanted book I wanted to read in the fall, and it became a let down for me.
