But this story also got me thinking about one night that changed my life. The only thing that came to mind was the one night I went on a date with my DH, and it was the 2nd date . He had gotten my fave foods , and magic shell. We watched movies, and talked very late or into the early morning. We got to know another , and this is one of my fave memories because I ended marrying him. But this one date changed my life in a good way.

Here is the information about the story from goodreads :  When Jonah is forced to move from Hamilton to Cross Pointe for the second half of his senior year, "miserable" doesn't even begin to cover it. He feels like the doggy-bag from his mother's first marriage and everything else about her new life—with a new husband, new home and a new baby—is an upgrade. The people at Cross Pointe High School are pretentious and privileged—and worst of all is Brighton Waterford, the embodiment of all things superficial and popular. Jonah’s girlfriend, Carly, is his last tie to what feels real... until she breaks up with him.

For Brighton, every day is a gauntlet of demands and expectations. Since her father died, she’s relied on one coping method: smile big and pretend to be fine. It may have kept her family together, but she has no clue how to handle how she's really feeling. Today is the anniversary of his death and cracks are beginning to show. The last thing she needs is the new kid telling her how much he dislikes her for no reason she can understand. She's determined to change his mind, and when they're stuck together for the night, she finally gets her chance.

Jonah hates her at 3p.m., but how will he feel at 3 a.m.?

One night can change how you see the world. One night can change how you see yourself.

Madeline Landry is the grand daughter of Jacob Landry who saved the world with these Nuclear power lanterns. This is the future but it was also very Victorian era.

She would like to go to college, but her father would like her to help run the estate. Madeline eye's are opened to many of the rootless issues. She meets David Dana who is unlike other gentry men. She loves to read about King Arthur & Guinevere . Her family has many secrets.

She wants to do something to help the rootless, and shows that she has some humanity. Her family life isn't as perfect, and her father has had mistresses at times. There is battle that is fought, and she is meets Jude.  She ends up making her debut with one of these guys.

This world was very different, and felt real. I loved the world building. I also loved the attraction between David and Madeline. I loved their conversations. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.  I admit that this book was very good , and I loved the cover.

Minders Book review

Sadie joins this program for six weeks , and she will be a someone else's mind during that time. She also has a boyfriend Pete , who is pressuring her for sex. She has two busy working parents who are gone a lot. She is a Type A personality , and a over achiever.

She is put into the mind of Subject 9 , and see's the world through his eyes. She can feel his emotions, and see them too. Ford Winter is the name of Subject 9 , and he is trying to solve the murder of his brother, and his friends are keeping secrets.

This book was okay , and it did remind me of Starters. Sadie's actions I had some questions about because there were some scenes where she is did a complete 180 . The ending was okay , but it left me hanging. There was some insta love. Ford is very tough , but also there for his family. Ford is also faithful in his relationships, but there are some situations that arise during the book.

Emma has lost her mother to death, but she is pregnant and being kept alive because of the baby. Emma and her step father Dan aren't ready to communicate. Emma life is turned upside down.

Emma get to know Caleb , and there is some insta love  because they have both gone through the same thing. Caleb is the bad boy and has issues with his family.

While this book did pull on the heart strings, I think that this book could have been resolved much soon with a good discussion between Emma and Dan. They are still dealing the loss of a wife and mother. I think Emma has a great friend . This is also my first time reading this author and it won't be the last.

Nyx is to be married to the Gentle Lord because her father has made a bargain with him. She is intending to kill him for the family.

Nyx learns that the house has many secrets. She needs to find the signals to kill the beast. He gives her many challenges & to find his name.

This was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast  with some Greek mythology mixed in. I enjoyed the many characters and loved that they grew to love another. I loved that they worked together. Nyx is the key to the story , and she loved Beast more than any of his other wives. The shadow was a nice complication.

I admit that I love Beauty and the Beast , and this is my fave story. I loved that Nyx is smart and sassy, and can hold her own against the Beast. I loved the family aspect in this book. I loved the romance too. This book had action, romance , and some very good lines in this book.

Aelyx is keeping secrets from Cara . Cara's family welcomes him into their home and they want to make his stay with them comfortable.

HALO is an organization that doesn't want the aliens there, and have many questions about the race and weapons.

Cara learns more about Aelyx , and with being friend to him. She then loses many of her other friends, and she is bullied by her peers for learning about this race. Aelyx starts opening up to Cara about his life and world. He also starts developing feelings for her. She is also starting to fall in love with him.

I loved that she was smart , and she really questioned him. I loved that he was starting to feel human. She stood up for something that she believed in. I loved that the romance happened over time and it wasn't insta love. I loved that her parents were in her life and parented her. I loved seeing parents still in love.  I can't wait to see what happens next . I admit I was brought in by the cover , and the story kept my attention. What a wonderful debt book.
