GameBoard of the Gods Book Review

Dr. Justin March can hear voices in his head. They give him advice about his personal life. They are his ravens.  Mae is a Praetorian soldier and has some super human strength. She reminded me of wonder woman. She got in trouble during the funeral of someone she loved.

She is meet and drop off a note in the Panama to Dr. March. She doesn't know  his name and they end up having a one night stand. Justin ends up coming back to RUNA ( Republic of United North America) and being a servitor and working on a case that deals with magic & religion. He has seen some strange things while working on some other cases. Justin is really interested in Mae.

Through out this book , we learn about the caste system and this dystopian world. There are many classifications for the many different people, and it took a while to get used to all the new words. While this is my first time reading this author, I do want to see what happens with Justin and Mae. I did love that so many religions were brought up from Norse mythology to Morrigan .

Cute Romance and I admit that I did want to do this when I was much younger. I guess I am doing this now with the book reviews , and I do have my blog linked up with my local TV station & Newspaper.

Rose is living the Amish dream. She is having trouble finding some alone time with Noah. Noah really wants to marry her. She decides to join the church and take the vows.

She wants to Belong to Noah
She wants to belong to a family
She wants to belong to a community

Sam is her brother and interested in Summer , who is also friends with Rose. Rose is staying longer in the Amish Community longer that what her father thought. She is having issues with her family still. She also learns more about the Amish way of life. Things in the Amish world isn't as pretty as it seems.

Rose is trying to do the right things , but her life suddenly changes .

This book did have some more points of view , and it was somewhat predictable . The ending I could guess what might happen. I did enjoy this glimpse into Amish life .

Proxy Book review

Knox is an only child , and his dad is CEO  of a huge tech firm. Knox's family has alot of wealth. When he does something bad, his proxy has to take the punishment. Syd is Knox's proxy and lives in the Valve. Syd goes to work and school down in the valve.

Syd is a chapter 11 meaning gay and poor. Knox is out joyriding with a girl he can't remember her name, and he ends up crashing his dad's car . Syd  now has to take that punishment , and Syd also has to donate his blood to Knox so that he can live. Both of their lives change after this incident.

Syd wants a new identity, and Knox  happens to be the person who can make this happen. They accidentally meet up at a party , and then they are on the run. More secrets are revealed & things aren't always what they seem.

While on the run, more secrets come to light, and there is discussion about choices, being free, and debt. This isn't a nice world at all. Its a world full of debt to a corporation if you are a proxy. Being Healthy isn't really a concern for those living in the valve. There is a lot of technology used through out the book.

Syd and Knox do change and start understanding one another. After finishing this book, my mind was blown. There is some romance, but this book was great on the world building. This book still had me thinking about all the discussions that were brought up.

Parallel & Undercurrent Book reviews

Caitlin is living two different lives in two different years. She has one life as an actress in Los Angeles, and another as a student at Yale , and also in high school.
She learns that actions have consequences, and finds two boys to fall in love with. Many of the same people are in both time lines. She knows what she wants , and also tries setting up a romance. There is another girl Ilana who is a mean girl, but Caitlin can be just as mean.

I enjoyed this book overall , but the only thing I found confusing was the Here & There book titles. I was glad to see the year & dates. Caitlin makes choices , and when she does wake up she is loss of her memories. I was that she was a smart student, but she behaved childish at times. I didn't like the twist at all. I would have preferred something else. This book did keep my attention when none of my other books didn't.

Callum & Cole both live in Crystal falls. Callum isn't popular and he hangs out with willow. Cole is the sport jock and popular one. Cal when he wakes up from falling into the river, his world is different. He is popular, and doing some shady things. Cole is different too.

Cal is going along in this new world , and never really questions what happened or why. He even talks with a teacher to start asking questions. Callum isn't like himself anymore. His parents issues are different too. Callum is looking for someone to talk to , and figure things out.

I loved that this was a boy point of view, but the lack of curiosity bugged me through out the book. He does realize some things , but I think it happened to late. The ending was rushed .

Another Little Piece Book Review

Another little Piece is just like its title . Through out the book we are given bread crumbs to follow the story , and the trail it leaves. It does go in any order.

Life is tough for Annaliese right now. She is a crush on Logan Rice ( the popular guy) . She was in the woods with him , and then she runs away. This is her journey back from wherever she has been, but she doesn't remember anything at all.

She gets to know her neighbor Dex & has an interesting relationship with the mom & dad. Dex isn't normal either. This is a paranormal book.

This book had some poems though out the book. It was a bit twisted , and interesting how it all come together. I loved seeing Annaliese struggle with the hunger, and figuring things out. She wasn't the honest daughter her parents thought her to be, and her relationship with Gwen ended in hurt.

There was quite a bit of sexual situations. This book did make me think of what I would do for love. I would never do what they did. This book was like a puzzle slowly coming together. I loved the twists and turns through out the book. This is a stand alone and no triangle.
