Randomness in my life

Well have sick kids here..older kids turned in Kinders homework today.

I must still have what DH passed along to me..

K had her 4 year check up and got 3 shots. She was very brave and that means in January that I get to register her for Kindergarten. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

M is doing well in school. She loves Achievement days and has blossomed with her friendships with her school friends/neighbors.

B is doing better and right now we are reading Harry Potter and sorcerers stone together. He is still into Ben 10:Alien Force and put on the Calendar when the Alien Swarm movie will be this month. B is doing very well in scouts..almost done completing wolf.

My lesson for church is done and I know my kids are in the class are excited for a Ice Cream Party at the end of the year.

I've been very blessed to have met some wonderful online and real friends. I've met you all through different places and if we ever do meet in real life ...I do call you FRIEND.

My MIL is now in the Area and planning Thanksgiving with her and my BIL family too. We are hosting it this year and it will be nice for the kids to see their Granny.

My Sister Amy is having her 1st baby pretty soon. I'm so excited for her.

Its almost New moon Movie time..I hope that this movie is better than Twilight. I didn't like the actress that plays Bella. She seems to have one facial expression in all of her movies and she blinked way too much. I hope the director got the vision to follow the BOOK.

I know that Movies from Books are never as good as the Novel. But I heard that The Hunger Games is going to be a MOVIE. This I want to see

Contest for 50 Followers is coming = My Favorite Things

I've rambled enough..Gotta clean and take care of sick kids.

Feddie Girl -- Book Review

Carlotta Ikedi (A.k.a Feddie Girl) has never liked school. Not in California. Not in Oklahoma. When her exasperated parents ship her off to boarding school–in West Africa–Carlotta faces a life, culture, and existence unlike anything she’s ever known.School rules and regulations, rising bell, lights-out, manual labor, inspections, dining time, prefects, punishments, mean bunkmates, and visiting days–it’s all here. But author Nona David takes Carlotta’s story a step further when her adventure’s lead to unfortunate incidents that threaten to drive her American family into the clutches of infidelity and organized crime.Boarding school doesn’t get any better than this…( back of the book)

This was a interesting story of a girl sent to boarding school in Lagos --Africa.

The story was told in Point of Views of Richard, Shelly , and Carlotta.

Richard-- Dr , and has a wandering eye, used to be part of the mob.
Shelly-- mother, and has a drinking problem, and a teacher
Carlotta-- daughter, was kicked out 2 schools previously.

This book was great to know about African culture and words. It was like Harry Potter without the magic and set in Africa.

I was more interested with the Parents story then that of Carlotta experience. I was surprised that in 6Th grade Carlotta age, that this book was mentioning lesbianism.

This family has some serious issues. Both parents are both married but looking to have affairs which was interesting. There was no communication between parents and there wasn't much communication with their daughter who was in school.

Loved the chapter titles

Review= 3

Doors Open-- Book Review

3 Friends in Edinburgh descend upon a auction in search of excitement. Mike Mackenzie, Allen Cruickshank , and Robert Gissing who lives are rather boring decided to liberate some painting from the National Gallery. They are hoping Mike will dissuade them. But though the heist goes off with out a hitch, Mike , Allen and Robert soon learn the aftermath.( Back cover)

This was my first time reading this author. I loved the setting in the book.

This book reminded me of Oceans 11 and somewhat of the Usual Suspects movies.

This was a quick read and there was more action then romance.

There were many Points of Views through out the story.

This is good book=3

This book comes out Jan 15,2010 and $24.99

Thanks to little brown for the book and this is my HONEST review.

Among Thieves-- Book Review

In 1990, $300 million worth of paintings were stolen from Boston's Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in what remains one of the greatest unsolved art thefts of the twentieth century. Now, nearly twenty years later, the case threatens to break wide open. Members of Boston's criminal underground are turning up dead. But these are no ordinary murders. The M.O. of the attacks suggests the involvement of someone trained by the IRA. But when Scott Finn learns that one of his clients, Devon Malley, was part of the heist, he's quickly drawn into the crossfire, and into the renewed hunt for the missing artwork-a hunt that may cost Finn and his colleagues their lives.( Goodreads.com)

This is my first time reading this author. I loved where the story was set in Boston. I have been wanting to visit this lovely city for some time.

There are 4 main characters in this book...Finn, Koz, Lissa, and Sally. There are many point of views through the book/story.

There was alot of action at the very end and this book did keep me up reading late. There was alot of swearing though out the book --realistic to the characters but I didn't like it.

Finn--- lawyer
Koz--PI
Lissa-- paralegal, dating Koz
Sally-- daughter of a client

This book comes out Jan 10, 2010 and $24.99

I gave this book =3

Thanks to GrandCentral for the book to review and this is my Honest review of the book.
