Queen of Light--BWB

In a time not long from now the veil between fantasy and reality is ripped asunder - creatures of myth and fairy tale spill into the mortal world. Enchanted yet horrified, humans force the magical beings Underground, to colonize the sewers and abandoned subway tunnels beneath their glittering cities. But even magic folk cannot dwell in harmony, and soon two Worlds emerge: the Lightworld, home to faeries, dragons and dwarves; and the Darkworld, where vampires, werewolves, angels and demons lurk. Now, in the dank and shadowy place between Lightworld and Darkworld, a transformation is about to begin... Ayla, a half faery, half human assassin, is stalked by Malachi, a Death Angel tasked with harvesting mortal souls. They clash. Immortality evaporates, forging a bond neither may survive. And in the face of unbridled ambitions and untested loyalties, an ominous prophecy is revealed that will shake the Worlds. ( Goodreads.com)

Different woman/ loner man meet and instant dislike or want to kill them or each other. They fight to the death. They touch and have an instant connection. There both have to deal with some insurmoutable odds , both the man/woman. They either face it together or separately and then the Happily Ever After or leaves the door open for another book.

Ayla is a strong female character who is half human and fairy. She is Lightworld .Malachi is a fallen Angel. He is considered darkworld. They are both stubborn and very different from the rest of the worlds. I liked they both had people helping them on their journey.

Okay. This is my first time reading this author. It take me a while to get into the story. I love reading about fairies/angels/vampires and this had it all. It did take me a while to get into the story with all the different scenes and characters.

The story was told in Malachi/ Ayla/Garret / Queene's Point of Views. I was able to guess it was going to be a series by the back of the book with the titles already out.

There was alot of action then romance which I think was great for this book and its seemed to even it self out with both.

I did love the Fight scene and what it for told and how the characters showed love and what happens to the person/character. I also loved how it showed what a person would do when they give up someone they love and what the future means to them.

Book Review- 3

BWB-2

Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

#1 Did you have an understanding of the world created by this novel, or did you find the complexity too much? I found it to be a little complex with all the dark and light.

#2 In a book that it appears many have trouble liking, what is one thing that you like about this book? I liked that there were strong female characters.

#3 Did you agree with the author’s decision to make Ayla a fierce assassin in battle and a weakling in her emotions? For example her obvious contempt for Garret but yet her willingness to be his mate and subject herself to his demeaning manor? I think that this is standard for female characters, they have to struggle with something and that was her struggle.

#4 What do you think the significance of the the baby Ayla carries is/will be? I think the baby will be what unites the worlds.

#5 What do you think of Ayla's ascension to the throne? Do you believe she accepted her own destiny too easily? I thought that was unrealistic and thought that she accepted the the crown to easily all because she was supposed to wed Garret...well hey..I was dating Prince William, he dies and then I become queen..Not likely.

This is my honest review and I bought the book.

Crayola Holiday Ideas--Review

Thanks to Myblogspark & Crayola, my family and I were able to try these great product for Kids and the Holidays and this is my HONEST review.

I was surprised when I did get the box at my door step. It had 3 items in it. I put it off to the side and took out the paper to put and have the kids play later.

They are the easiest thing to put together and have the kids start playing right away. My kids always get excited when they see and when we get new toys.

My kids only liked 2 of the 3 items. They liked the Crayola Beginnings and the Crayola Glow writing pad. The Crayola Color Dome only got a lukewarm response.

On Saturday-- 2 kids were doing the Glow in the Dark Pad and having fun with the Stencils. While 3 other kids were listing to music and coloring and trying to decide if they wanted a Guitar, Drum, Piano, or Trumpet sound. All my 5 Kids enjoyed the coloring and being Creative.

The Crayola Beginnings Color me a Song comes with Crayons...you only need paper and imagination. This is good for kids 24+months and above and $24.99

The Crayola Glow Station was a hit with all my kids. They loved using the wand and all the of the Stencils that came with it. Suggested age is 6+..but I found it was usable for all ages, just had to add sharing the 1 pen and stencils. Price is about $ 29.99

The Crayola Color Explosion Glow Dome was the lukewarm response in my house. I Love the idea behind the way kids can be creative. It has 4 different spins and kids are able to watch their artwork glow and spin. Definitely for ages 6+ and $ 29.99.

The kids did like all the items...Thanks so much for letting my kids try them out and I'm sure that thier imaginations are going to soar with all these Creative ideas.

More Randomness

A was Student of the week in her Class. She was excited to be the leader and I got to bring snacks for all the kids.

I missed going to the Momslikeme event ( Women in Work) for many reasons ...sick kids, and didn't want to abuse my friend babysitters that I use once in a while.

My lesson for Church is done and having a Board meeting after church. Woot Hoot.

I'm Hosting a Blog Event at my House about Family Safety through California Volunteers and will be discussing : The event would include several key speakers from California Volunteers including head Karen Baker( Not coming) and a CERT safety instructor to give you tangible information to prepare you in case of a disaster.

Talk about the our popular downloadable, customize-able Family Plan http://californiavolunteers.org/familyplan/plan.html as it helps teach kids (in a non-scary way) how to memorize what to do, telephone numbers, etc.

Oh New moon comes out that Friday Nov 20. Yes I have my Ticket to go to the show.

I have also scheduled all my kids Parent/Teacher conferences and its almost time to registrar K for Kindergarten.

I did do school pics of the kids, and I just need to have them printed up for Family.

That's whats happening here.

Love you to Death-- Book Review

It's been days since reporter Elise McBride has heard from her sister, Ashley. She's convinced Ashley has met with some kind of foul play, especially when she learns that bodies of other missing women have surfaced in and around Chicago--all victims of a brutal serial killer. Convinced her sister is still alive, Elise vows to risk everything to save her... The last thing ex-cop Trent Brady needs is more blood on his hands. Yet when he catches Elise breaking into her sister's house, full of reckless determination and fear, he knows she needs his help. But just as desire ignites between them, a twisted madman sets his sights on Elise. Hell-bent on possessing her for himself, this psychopath won't rest until he has his perfect woman.( Goodreads.com)
This was actually a decent romance book. There was just enough action and romance.
In this book the reader to get a glimpse into the mind of the killer. He has some serious issues. This book also centered around family and those issues there. There was alot of family interaction through out the story. This is a romantic suspense novel and this was one of the better ones I have read.
Trent-- ex cop , neighbor to Ashley
Elise-- sister to Ashley, reporter,
Ashley- victim, sister to Elise
Sam-- brother to Trent, owns his own grass cutting business
This book is already out in Paperback and $6.99.
