Parallel & Undercurrent Book reviews

Caitlin is living two different lives in two different years. She has one life as an actress in Los Angeles, and another as a student at Yale , and also in high school.
She learns that actions have consequences, and finds two boys to fall in love with. Many of the same people are in both time lines. She knows what she wants , and also tries setting up a romance. There is another girl Ilana who is a mean girl, but Caitlin can be just as mean.

I enjoyed this book overall , but the only thing I found confusing was the Here & There book titles. I was glad to see the year & dates. Caitlin makes choices , and when she does wake up she is loss of her memories. I was that she was a smart student, but she behaved childish at times. I didn't like the twist at all. I would have preferred something else. This book did keep my attention when none of my other books didn't.

Callum & Cole both live in Crystal falls. Callum isn't popular and he hangs out with willow. Cole is the sport jock and popular one. Cal when he wakes up from falling into the river, his world is different. He is popular, and doing some shady things. Cole is different too.

Cal is going along in this new world , and never really questions what happened or why. He even talks with a teacher to start asking questions. Callum isn't like himself anymore. His parents issues are different too. Callum is looking for someone to talk to , and figure things out.

I loved that this was a boy point of view, but the lack of curiosity bugged me through out the book. He does realize some things , but I think it happened to late. The ending was rushed .

Another Little Piece Book Review

Another little Piece is just like its title . Through out the book we are given bread crumbs to follow the story , and the trail it leaves. It does go in any order.

Life is tough for Annaliese right now. She is a crush on Logan Rice ( the popular guy) . She was in the woods with him , and then she runs away. This is her journey back from wherever she has been, but she doesn't remember anything at all.

She gets to know her neighbor Dex & has an interesting relationship with the mom & dad. Dex isn't normal either. This is a paranormal book.

This book had some poems though out the book. It was a bit twisted , and interesting how it all come together. I loved seeing Annaliese struggle with the hunger, and figuring things out. She wasn't the honest daughter her parents thought her to be, and her relationship with Gwen ended in hurt.

There was quite a bit of sexual situations. This book did make me think of what I would do for love. I would never do what they did. This book was like a puzzle slowly coming together. I loved the twists and turns through out the book. This is a stand alone and no triangle.

Blog Confession - Tours /Cover Reveals etc

Does participating in book tours/cover reveals and author guests post drive traffic to your blog? What type of problems have you encountered when hosting them? (please keep it civil - no names or calling specific people out) As a blog follower, are you ever turned off by these kinds of posts? How much publicity is too much?

Okay thinking back..I think the only day I had a good day with the blog and an author was with the Teralynn Child's scavenger Hunt. I have over 600 from that one day. The most I have ever had on a single day.

I don't really do them any more because usually there are multiple blogs doing the reveal , and I see them all in my reader. No I don't get much traffic. No real problems with hosting them. Yes as stated before ...if I see them in my reader then I don't even look at them...ie Marcus Finch tour.

But I did do a tour with an author a couple years back , and I sent my reviews to her because one book was a DNF  because of the ebook formatting. I kept my review up on Goodreads of the book. But even with this book tour I didn't see much of a change.

Another author I read and love her books, she sends out an email with links to her books, and I admit that I do see some hits from that tour.

Overall its a mixed bag when it comes to working with authors and tours.

Thanks Pam and Karen for this topic

fml--mini review

Simon has been in love with Cassie . Tonight she is having a barter party and he wants to tell her how he really feels for her. This is a sliding doors for Simon because in one world he close and living the dream . And in Reality he has found someone else but still wants to tell Cassie how he feels. He is best with Coop and Ben , who are gay and haven't done it yet. His other best friend is trying a thing with a girl. Simon is also hanging out with this girl that came with him to the party and has a pet dog named Falcor.

This is did take me a while to get into because I couldn't figure what was real or not. Also some of the same things happened to Simon, so it was tough to figure out the time line. This is my first time reading the author. This remind me of the many teen movies I like to watch.

Tessa gets a mission to go to this small town in Oregon and become Madison. She has go undercover and find clues that might lead them to the killer. While as Madison , she needs to find out what happened on this one day. It could be her ex boyfriend Ryan , or the mean girls. Life as Madison isn't easy but she learns that she has lot more secrets.

There is some romance but didn't like some parts of it. Also there is more surprises through this book. This book reminded me of the Xmen .
